Our Thoughts
Our faithful followers may be surprised to see a picture book on our review site. We have intentionally focused on longer books, thinking that parents can easily review shorter picture books. But recently we have realized that this only addresses one half of our mission, protecting hearts and minds from negative content. The other half of the mission God gave us is to find and share solid, safe, faith-building content to Christian parents, and parents of young kids need books that will point them to content that will build their faith and character. This book certainly falls into that category. Young children will instantly enjoy the cute art and engaging, rhyming format of this book that follows an attention-grabbing pace. And this topic, gratitude, is one children of all ages need to be reminded of, especially in this materialistic culture. We need to view what we have how God views it, and this book is a great tool to help Christian parents do that with a young, limited attention audience. This book shows several points of wisdom you may not expect from an early reader source. Early on we see very intentional, patient parenting in addressing an issue that comes up (a great reminder to all Christian parents!). In addressing the issue, mom even shares wisdom she received from a pastor on contentment. We also see wisdom in the acknowledgement that wanting things is not necessarily a bad thing, which is an important point. Mom then has her daughter make a list of blessings and the illustration shows her daughter smiling over a very long list. The book ties appreciation and happiness to attitude and gratitude. Mom also expresses her contentment and gratitude. Later in the book we see a few signs hung in the house. One is Acts 20:35 (“It is greater to give than receive”). We also see grace defined. The book ends very well. A sweet and important tale that we HIGHLY Recommend for young kiddos.

Delilah the Ant has everything she could ever want…except one thing, pink curtains! Will these curtains make her happy, or will she just want something else after she gets them? This sweet story with a wise message teaches that gratitude and perspective are powerful tools in the pursuit of happiness.

A really interesting review to read through.
Read ReviewFor the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say 'No' to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
